Spring in North Carolina the season for underage drinking
It's that time of year. Proms are being held, dances are being attended and students across North Carolina are enjoying spring activities. For many students, this season of activity is a whirlwind of fun and friendship. However, for some, it can also be a season of tragedy for those who fall victim to the consequences of underage drinking.
Research shows that spring is the deadliest season for North Carolina's teenagers. In fact, North Carolina holds the third place spot for the most teenage driving deaths nationwide. The reason for this has to do with the various social activities that are popular during this time period. For many, along with the dress, the tux and the date comes the inclusion of alcohol in the festivities.

North Carolina law enforcement charge 4 with drug trafficking
Home is typically the place where one can eat, sleep and relax. This can generally be done without the fear of someone barging in and disrupting the environment. Occasionally, a salesperson may knock on the door or a telemarketer may call; however, these individuals can easily be dismissed. The idea of North Carolina police barging in searching for drugs brings to mind a scene from an evening police drama on television.
Recently, this drama played out in one North Carolina home. After conducting what they claim was a four-month investigation, law enforcement officers barged in a home in a search for drugs. According to these officers, they recovered over $100,000 worth of heroin and $45,000 in U.S. currency. Four individuals were arrested as a result of this raid.

North Carolina mom faces drunk driving charge
On Sunday evenings, most moms are home getting their family ready for the week ahead. Every once in a while, though, a mom gets the opportunity to go out for a little while. When this happens, and a mom is able to socialize with friends at one of their favorite spots in North Carolina, it is still a good idea to have a designated driver. After one begins to drink, it can be difficult to determine if one is legally able to drive home or if one is risking a drunk driving charge – or worse.
Recently, a North Carolina wife and mother was out on a Sunday evening. As she was driving, she veered across the center lane and into the other lane of traffic. In doing so, she collided with a vehicle in the other lane. An 18-year-old passenger in the other vehicle was killed in the accident.

North Carolina man faces robbery and weapons charges
Sometimes, one thing leads to another and the outcome is not always what is expected. One questionable action or decision gives way to another, and suddenly the individual ends up face to face with North Carolina law enforcement. The outcome of such an encounter generally depends upon the events, circumstances, perceived involvement of the individual in possible criminal activity and if there is a possible weapons offense.
Recently, one North Carolina man was arrested and charged with using a dangerous weapon to commit robbery. This man appears to be the primary suspect in at least nine armed robberies over a six month period. Additionally, officers have indicated that there were several other robberies with similar features in nearby counties. All in all, this 31-year-old is facing a dozen counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one attempted robbery, six kidnapping charges as well as other charges.

Why college students need to take underage consumption charges seriously
At this time of the year, there's no question that the pressure is on for college students. That's because we're rapidly approaching the end of the semester, meaning reading has to be completed and papers drafted. This is not to mention, of course, studying for final exams.
When it all comes to an end, however, students will be looking to blow off steam with many heading to area bars or campus parties, or others just unwinding with friends in the comfort of their dorms or apartments. While there's certainly nothing wrong with this, things can become problematic if alcohol enters the picture and the person doing the consuming is underage.
