Home is typically the place where one can eat, sleep and relax. This can generally be done without the fear of someone barging in and disrupting the environment. Occasionally, a salesperson may knock on the door or a telemarketer may call; however, these individuals can easily be dismissed. The idea of North Carolina police barging in searching for drugs brings to mind a scene from an evening police drama on television.
Recently, this drama played out in one North Carolina home. After conducting what they claim was a four-month investigation, law enforcement officers barged in a home in a search for drugs. According to these officers, they recovered over $100,000 worth of heroin and $45,000 in U.S. currency. Four individuals were arrested as a result of this raid.
The individuals arrested were each charged with possession and trafficking of heroin along with various other related charges. No details regarding what led to the officer's targeting of this home have been released. Additionally, no details have been made public related to evidence against each specific individual.
In preparation to defend these charges, each individual will want to work with experienced legal counsel to review the evidence and ensure that his or her rights are protected. Charges of drug possession and drug trafficking are serious accusations that must be answered to in a North Carolina court of law. In a situation such as this one, each individual will need to present his or her own defense to the charges filed against the specific individual.
